Fiat Offramps with Turnkey

Let users move money out of their wallet and back to fiat inside your platform, while Turnkey supplies the in-app transfer screen, authentication, policy controls and signing.

What is the solution? Fiat Offramps let your users sell crypto back to fiat inside your platform through Turnkey's integration with MoonPay. Fiat Onramp now works in both directions on Turnkey, and users can compare the Onramp quotes available to them on every crypto purchase.

What does it solve? Users who deposit fiat into a wallet also need a way to withdraw it. Teams building embedded consumer wallets often have to build Onramp and Offramp integrations separate from the wallet stack they already use.

How does it solve this? Users set up a deposit or withdrawal on a Turnkey-provided screen in your app, and complete the flow while staying inside your product. Identity verification and payment entry happen in MoonPay's widget within your app. Your team uses the same Turnkey APIs, policy engine and webhooks it already uses for crypto.

Who is it built for? Product and engineering teams building embedded consumer wallets, including consumer wallet apps, fintech & neobank platforms, and payments & rewards apps that hold crypto or stablecoins for their users.

Today, Turnkey is introducing Fiat Offramps, so your users can transfer crypto back to fiat without leaving your product. Our MoonPay Onramp integration now works in both directions: fiat in and fiat out.

When users buy crypto through an Onramp, they can compare the quotes available to them, each showing a provider's payment method and fees, and pick the best option. For builders, that means one integration for auth, policy, signing and settlement across fiat and crypto, with MoonPay built in rather than a separate vendor to integrate on your own.

A Fiat Offramp lets users exchange crypto for traditional currency, such as USD or EUR, and receive it through a payment method they choose. This release has two parts:

  • Offramps alongside Onramps: Users can move money in either direction through MoonPay.
  • Quote comparison on every Onramp purchase: When buying crypto, users see one or more quotes, depending on the providers you enable.

Together, these give users a full path to get fiat into and out of their wallet.

How do Fiat Offramps work for your users?

For the user, an Offramp is a short flow inside your product. A typical withdrawal follows two steps:

  1. Set up the withdrawal: The user picks the amount, asset and payment method on a Turnkey-provided screen inside your app.
  2. Verify and pay out: KYC and payment entry happen in MoonPay's widget, with its branding clearly shown so users always know who is moving their money.

The result is a withdrawal flow that stays in your product.

What your team controls through Turnkey’s APIs

Whether you already build on Turnkey or are just getting started, Fiat Onramps and Offramps run through one Turnkey integration. Here is what you control:

  • One API for fiat and crypto: The same Turnkey APIs that move crypto now move fiat too, with the same auth, policy engine and webhook stream.
  • Policies for end-user activity: Enable or disable the feature for specific users, or turn it on or off for your app as a whole. Policies apply at the Turnkey layer; steps inside MoonPay's widget sit outside Turnkey.
  • Transaction history and status: Track the status and history of every deposit and withdrawal, with full visibility through the API.

As Turnkey adds providers, you can turn them on through the same integration, with no new vendor to build against.

Who handles KYC and KYB for Fiat Offramps?

MoonPay performs KYC (identity verification for your users) and KYB (business verification for your company). Turnkey supplies the in-app screen, authentication, policies and signing.

How your team gets access (KYB): Your company completes MoonPay's onboarding once. MoonPay sets its own review requirements and timeline.

How your users get access (KYC): Your users complete KYC inline, inside your app, at the moment they want to transact. The experience is tuned to keep friction low: Checks step up as amounts grow, so users share more information only when they need it.
