Both networks now work with the same Turnkey infrastructure used to construct, sign, broadcast, and track transactions across supported chains. Teams can retrieve real-time balances and receive webhook updates without operating their own indexing infrastructure.
As an additional option, they can enable gas sponsorship allowing them to cover user’s network fees in order to give their users a better transactional experience without any friction that gas payments might introduce.
Why Turnkey is adding Monad and Optimism right now
Monad and Optimism represent two distinct parts of the EVM ecosystem.
Monad is a parallelized Layer 1 designed to deliver high throughput and fast finality while preserving EVM compatibility. Since reaching public mainnet in November 2025, it has attracted DeFi, gaming, payments, and consumer applications that need transactions to move quickly at scale.
Optimism is an established Ethereum Layer 2 that combines lower fees with settlement to Ethereum. OP Mainnet also anchors the OP Stack and the broader Superchain ecosystem, which includes networks such as Base, Zora, and World Chain.

Manage the complete EVM transaction lifecycle from day one
Turnkey’s transaction stack handles the complete lifecycle of an EVM transaction, including:
- Transaction construction
- Gas and priority fee estimation
- Secure signing
- Transaction broadcast
The same flow supports token transfers, smart contract interactions, contract deployments, and other arbitrary EVM operations.
Turnkey also manages broadcast reliability and fee estimation when networks become congested, helping applications submit transactions efficiently without building and maintaining their own transaction delivery infrastructure.
Remove native token requirements with built-in gas sponsorship
Applications can enable gas sponsorship with a single parameter, allowing users to transact without holding the network’s native gas token.
Teams can manage sponsored spending through USD-denominated limits at two levels:
- A total limit for the organization
- Individual limits for each sub-organization
Limits and time windows can be configured in the Turnkey dashboard, while current usage can be checked programmatically against the active limit.
Track wallet balances and transaction activity in real time
Transaction execution is only part of the application experience. Teams also need an accurate view of what each wallet holds and when those balances change.
Turnkey’s Balances API returns the assets held by any Turnkey-secured address on a supported network. Balance webhooks then push updates as funds move in real-time, removing the need to operate an indexer or continuously poll the chain.
Webhooks can notify applications when a balance change is first detected onchain and again when it reaches finality. This makes it possible to show users a pending state immediately, then confirm the transaction once it has finalized.
Enforce transaction controls at the point of signing
Every transaction on Monad and Optimism can also be governed by Turnkey’s policy engine.
Policies can define:
- How much a wallet can spend
- Which addresses can receive funds
- Which contracts a wallet can interact with
- Who can approve sensitive transactions
- Which actions an automated system or agent can perform
Private key operations and policy evaluation happen inside hardware-isolated Trusted Execution Environments. This keeps the keys and the rules governing their use within the same secure boundary.
If a transaction falls outside the approved policy, Turnkey denies the request before a signature is created. These controls remain enforced even if the application’s surrounding infrastructure is compromised.
