“Our goal has always been to make complex onchain interactions feel seamless for users. Turnkey gave us the wallet infrastructure needed to deliver that experience across everything we build.” — Abbas Ali Mehtar, Founder and CTO at Gizmolab
About
Gizmolab is a crypto development studio founded to enrich the web3 ecosystem by creating intuitive, easy-to-use solutions for both end users and businesses. Trusted by leading organizations and projects such as Surgence Labs, Abstract, and Bomefers, Gizmolab recently launched its own flagship DeFi trading platform, Glyde, which already boasts over 38k active users while still in beta.
Challenge
Building dApps that deliver invisible authentication and transaction flows
Gizmolab’s founding vision was to help organizations create dApps that blend innovation with accessibility. Whether it's DeFi or digital collectibles, its team’s goal for every project is to ensure even the most non-crypto-savvy users encounter no friction when executing onchain actions.
Founder and CTO Abbas Ali Mehtar quickly realized that the first step toward delivering on that vision was establishing secure, scalable wallet infrastructure. He envisioned an experience where users could seamlessly access unfamiliar dApps without having to link an external wallet or jot down a seed phrase, two of the most common causes of drop-off during onboarding.
Additionally, actions such as managing token swaps, minting NFTs, or purchasing digital stocks had to be seamless from day one. In his words, “The user should have to click five times max before they have the asset in their account.”
With a lean and time-strapped development team, building wallet infrastructure in-house to support these functions was a non-starter. Not only would this path command months of engineering bandwidth, but it would also require the team to build foundational security logic and manage private keys for every new dApp.
Rather than forcing his team to navigate the operational risk and looming audits demanded by Gizmolab’s growing client base, Abbas sought an established wallet provider that could provide consistent, verifiable security guarantees and support the workflows his products depended on.
“Most organizations don’t realize how many steps are involved for even basic onchain actions. We needed a scalable way to make those flows invisible and secure for end users so we could focus on innovation rather than infrastructure.”
Solution
Secure, versatile, and scalable wallet infrastructure
With Turnkey, Gizmolab solidified the foundational wallet infrastructure needed to create innovative and accessible experiences for the dApps of the future.
Within 48 hours of onboarding, Gizmolab had established frictionless wallet creation and recovery flows that drive user adoption for every new dApp it ships.
Rather than requiring non-crypto natives to create a third-party wallet or download a browser extension, these users can now simply generate embedded wallets through email or social authentication, a flow that rivals web2 in simplicity. And thanks to Turnkey’s native email-based recovery, regaining access to lost wallets no longer requires entering a 24-word seed phrase.
The impact extends beyond onboarding. Using Turnkey’s Alchemy integration, Gizmolab easily facilitates gas-free trading, abstracting the need for end users to micromanage their tokens. And with session-based signing, users can perform multiple onchain actions without repeated logins, eliminating authentication fatigue for frequent traders.
In the background, Turnkey’s secure enclave architecture isolates every key generated and signing action, ensuring convenience never comes at the expense of security.
Operationally, webhooks and activity logs deliver the visibility Gizmolab needs to monitor key usage, track signing behavior, and maintain a clear audit trail across dApps. This unified infrastructure also enables the team to refine product design without having to rework underlying wallet logic or key management.
Building on its client-based successes, Gizmolab also worked with Turnkey to launch its flagship DeFi trading platform, Glyde. Using the exact Turnkey-powered onboarding and transaction flows it executes for its clients, Gizmolab onboarded over 38k users within months, and is poised to double that number following its official launch.
“Turnkey was the ideal solution for anything involving trading or wallet functionality. We know we can rely on it to help us deliver the experiences our clients want.”
Results
Pioneering the next generation of dApps with Turnkey
By abstracting away the challenges of establishing and maintaining wallet infrastructure, Gizmolab quickly scaled its project portfolio while driving early demand for Glyde without adding headcount.
- 6 production dApps powered by Turnkey
- 38k+ user wallets created on Glyde
- 3 months of development time saved
Looking ahead, Gizmolab plans to expand its services across additional chains and dApp categories while continuing to lean on Turnkey as its foundational wallet infrastructure.
“Turnkey didn’t just save us months of engineering time and tens of thousands of dollars — it gave us the confidence to scale much faster than if we’d built everything in-house.”
