"Ask any founder, and they'll agree that wallets are one of the most difficult hurdles to building in this space. Turnkey saved us an entire company's worth of time and energy by not having to build comparable infrastructure internally." — Ivo Crnkovic-Rubsamen, Co-founder of Pascal
About
Pascal is a full-featured prediction marketplace, founded to provide highly performant and reliable trading experiences to users across the globe. Only recently coming out of stealth in June 2026, Pascal has raised $15 million in funding led by firms including Union Square Ventures, Wintermute Ventures, and DBA.
Challenge
Delivering a consistent wallet UX without compromising trader choice
Unlike many existing prediction marketplaces, Pascal was created for veteran, crypto-native traders rather than casual bettors. Its users expect competitive trading fees, low-latency transaction flows, information-rich interfaces, and extensive support for third-party wallets.
While Pascal’s UI/UX has been heavily praised by traders since its emergence from stealth, Co-founder Ivo Crnkovic-Rubsamen knew that supporting a broad range of external wallets could expose users to inconsistent behavior, outdated client versions, and difficult-to-diagnose errors. “It’s very difficult to build a marketplace that works well with all external wallets out there,” Ivo explains. “And that makes delivering a consistent, reliable user experience almost impossible.”
Limiting support to a small, curated set of proven wallets wasn’t an immediate fix for this, as it could hinder Pascal’s success during its public beta. Veteran traders whose preferred wallets were not on the approved list might defect to other marketplaces and early participation in the platform would dwindle.
Ivo needed a solution that would preserve trader choice while offering a more consistent, app-native experience from wallet creation to transaction execution. Following a recommendation from one of Pascal’s VCs, Ivo ultimately chose Turnkey for its seamless, flexible, and non-custodial embedded wallets.
"With support for external wallets comes a huge surface area for incomprehensible errors. We saw how embedded wallets have been a totally killer primitive for DeFi in the last few years, and knew it was time to make a change."
Solution
Turnkey’s flexible wallet primitives unlock a performant and consistent user experience
With Turnkey’s robust SDK, in-depth documentation, and reliable support, going from zero to MVP took Ivo only 12 days. “One of the best things about Turnkey is their SDK; it’s really high quality,” Ivo explains. “With it, it’s easy to build our own custom components and UI, while delivering on the performance guarantees we offer to traders.”
Following integration, Turnkey became Pascal’s underlying wallet infrastructure, streamlining user interactions from account creation to transaction execution. Rather than requiring all new users to create an account by connecting a third-party wallet, Pascal now offers embedded wallet creation through familiar methods (email, passkeys, Google, and Apple) that mirror the simplicity and intuitiveness of a traditional app.
The private keys linked to these embedded wallets are generated and stored within Turnkey’s secure enclaves, ensuring they remain protected and only accessible to the trader. All onchain actions are also confined to these trusted execution environments, meaning signing doesn’t need to be coordinated across multiple parties or nodes. As a result, Pascal can offer scalable, sub-100ms signing across multiple regions.
This combination of seamless user flows and low-latency signing performance enabled Ivo to confidently bring Pascal to its public beta stage. Today, thousands of users are already using the marketplace to participate in event-driven prediction and derivatives contracts.
“We have much stronger guarantees about the consistency of the user experience when traders use Turnkey’s embedded wallets. We’ve often wished that we could support them exclusively.”
Results
Streamlined trader flows, immediate platform adoption, and a foundation for sustained growth
With Turnkey, Pascal unlocked a consistent, low-friction wallet UX that supports the polished, high-performance trading environment its veteran users expect. Rather than focusing on refining Pascal’s wallet infrastructure, Ivo and his team devote their time toward accelerating the marketplace’s path to full release.
- 50% of Pascal users onboarded with Turnkey
- 2M contracts of trading volume processed through embedded wallets
- 12 days to full integration
Looking ahead, Pascal plans to explore Turnkey Earn with the goal of bringing deposit and withdrawal flows into the same infrastructure stack.
“While Turnkey’s embedded wallets have worked very well for us, the team is also highly responsive. Even though we’re not one of their largest customers, they still care what we think and are extremely attentive.”
